The living room is the soul of the house, so make a statement with your wall art. As this is a room that gets a lot of guests, make sure you put ‘you’ into it. This means, if you’re a bohemian free-spirit, get some funky colours and amazing surreal art prints and posters. If you’re not sure what style you are, then have a look around to the statement pieces in your living room. Do you have a lumpy leather sofa that’s uber comfy? Another way to keep your living room wall art looking coherent is to match the wall art with furnishings like cushions, throws and rugs. Try and match colours – it doesn’t need to be exact, but having the odd accent match a shade, or a complementary colour scheme can look really powerful. Make sure the matching colours isn’t too OTT though, and balance it by keeping it spread evenly throughout your living room. So don’t put three orange wall art prints in a row above an orange sofa, or if you do, set it off with a lovely light blue throw.
