Having a purple wall decoration is a bit like wearing a top with a bold pattern, it’s gonna be the statement piece. So if you’ve just moved into your new flat try buying your purple print or poster first and work off that. Layer up your purple wall art with a bohemian print if you’re a festival queen, or indulge in a purple paisley blanket over the sofa in your living room for a beautiful bold look.

Purple can be quite a vampy colour too (if you go for a deep plum shade that is), so ramp up the sass. Big, droopy copper pendant lights can look incredible over a dining room paired against some purple wall art. Or, get some wall accent lighting and highlight your chosen purple wall art.

If you’ve already bought furniture pieces like your bed, sofa and shelving units, you might need to work purple into your colour scheme. Look out for rooms with either blood red, orange, pink (fuschia or any shade of pink), yellow and silver colouring as these pair with purple perfectly. It doesn’t need to be OTT with the purple either, sliters of lilac look great in dreamy sea prints, whilst deep shades work great in gritty industrial prints.

Just remember, the most important thing is to follow your gut instinct. But if you’re feeling a little uneasy, just go for some wall art with a slice of purple.
