Our braided rugs not only look amazing, they’re flexible enough to be used in a variety of spaces and come in a tremendous selection of styles and sizes. Bold, abstract patterns for the living room, long traditional runners for the hall, simple calming tones for the bathroom, the possibilities for your home are endless!
Braided rugs have been around for some time, several centuries now in fact. No fad or flash-in-the-pan, they’re made by weaving a number of different strands of fabric together--just like a braid--to create a unique, variegated look. The braided construction has the added benefit of making them extra durable, so you can feel comfortable using them in high-traffic, mess-prone areas; many of them are even machine washable.
If you have kids, a bell is probably going off right now for you. Intricate patterns and bold colors are sure to make these rugs a favorite at playtime for your little tyke, plus they’re plenty soft. If your little one isn’t big on chairs, grab a couple of cheery throw pillows to complete the makeshift play area, just in case they get tuckered out. Of course, adults make messes too: these rugs are ideal for the bath, the kitchen, or the hall. Darker colors will stand up best to repeated washes and hide dirt well, but lighter colors are a good choice for cramped spaces or rooms without a lot of natural light.
Remember to try to coordinate the colors of the rug with those in the room. You can achieve a real sense of harmony by picking out a pattern that contains tones already present in your room or a pattern that matches your existing furniture. A floral pattern works as a great continuation of a floral wallpaper or sofa. And whether you have hardwood floors or carpeting you always want to consider choosing a rug that compliments the existing flooring’s tones: e.g., softer whites and greys go perfectly with light hardwood floors, while earth tones work well with neutral color carpeting.
