Dieter Rams is the renowned chief designer of Braun and Vitsoe and as such the clarity of his consumer products have a huge fanbase and have greatly enhanced the daily lives of many people who use his designs and influenced the work of other designers to boot.

This book is based on the Jorrit Maan collection and is edited by Cees W. de Jong with contributions from Klaus Kemp and Erik Mattie. It also includes Dieter's Tokyo Manifesto which is largely an address to design students and includes the advice that "We should think twice about what we would want to produce. Less is only more it it is also better."
