This catalogue has been produced to accompany an exhibition at the Nationalgalerie in Berlin. That exhibition celebrats what would have been the artist's 250th birthday. As the introduction to the book by Christian Kohorst notes "the questions Friedrich posed about the relationship between humanity and nature seem ever more relevant than ever. His depictions of the timeless beauty of nature touch viewers deeply, inviting them to rediscover their connectedness to the natural environment in silent contemplation."
All of the texts in the book are in English, they include essays on the technical aspect of Friedrich's painting, the works that concentrate on mountains, gorges and forests, and painting that were made as pairs.

I placed order on 15/01 and finally received the correct item on 4/02. No correspondence from vendor - even though they initially sent the incorrect item. Which I still have and do not know how/where to return. Why should I have to chase and follow up to complete the transaction? I paid my money in good faith, to buy beautiful items, not to find more stress.. Painful
