Signed Maria Portilla & numbered 1-18 in series. About this series by the Artist: COLOUR I believe in painting as a way to honour perception through colour. Colour is mystic and powerful, and playing with it is an alchemical process. My colours are decided in the working process: there is no plan. Rather, the flow of the composition and my sensibility towards different gradients inform an almost musical process dominated by instinct and feeling: sometimes harmonic, sometimes dissonant. At the same time, the brush, light, colour, texture and my hands are the tools that keep me present. By mixing pure pigment in powder form by hand with tempera, raw egg yolk we can maintain the traditional intensity of the colour. ~ Size: approx 1m x 1m Material: fabric paper, wooden hanging dowels, pigment & tempera. Packaged in a cardboard tube with sketch & certificate of authenticity. Fixings not included, due to the light nature of the canvas we can recommend affixing to the wall using two 3M adhesive small clear hooks.
