Edward Bawden Scrapbooks - Peyton Skipworth & Brian Webb
This book is in many ways a companion piece to the book on the scrapbooks of Eric Ravilious. The two artists were close friends and lived near to each other in Suffolk Both of their works are identifiably of their time but distinct from each other.
His scrapbooks contain his own work in sketchy form but also bits of card that he has collected or been sent by friends and family. The book includes some of the hand coloured proofs that Bawden did for Life in an English Village and sketches that he made for patterned paper designs and designs for ceramic decoration.
