This flower lampshade from Alison Bick is made from printed linen. Alison designs and makes all her lampshades herself by hand, from her base in Cornwall.
When Alison was growing up in Vanuatu she had one of these glorious trees in her garden. It is also called a Christmas Tree as it flowers at Christmas time. Alison's parents built an orchid house around it to grow their orchid collection, and Alison's job as a child was to help water them, one of those evening rituals, the memory of it is evoking smells of the end of a hot tropical day and family time together. It is strange how memories and smells are closely linked!
This shade looks stunning in a contemporary living space with a bright splash of pattern and colour. It is suitable for a lampbase.

I placed the order on 18/11/24 only to be emailed today 3/12/24 and told the lamp was out of stock and my order cancelled by Fy. The Fy website is still listing the lamp as in stock and available to buy. Website should be up-to-date on out of stock items and it should not take more than 2 weeks to notify customers and item is out of stock especially in the run-up to Christmas.
