You don’t need to invest in a whopping great Ming vase to bring a ton of class and charm into a room: any one of these small vases will do the trick just as well, especially when you put them to work as a team. There are so many nooks and crannies in the home that go unused and can leave a room feeling spare. Using this selection smartly can add visual oomph to any room and make it come alive like you never imagined.

Think about your tall bedroom dresser. At the moment it might be purely functional, but a string of cheery vessels (try out pastel colours on ceramic) fitting snugly in the empty space between the top of the dresser and your ceiling, can make your space feel even more inviting and homey. If it’s a bit dim up there, think about adding some moody lighting, say a string of LED lights in psychedelic purple or minty green.

We also love to array a few of these gems along the top of our kitchen cabinets or, if you have glass fronted doors, even interspersed with our dishware and glassware. Classic Chinoiserie patterns are perfect here: their soft navy and bone shades are calming and inviting (and we all know how uninviting the kitchen can sometimes feel after a long day), plus they’ll look great next to any China plates or bowls you might have. Of course, what’s a feast without a fresh bouquet in a fetching vase? Rather than a single giant arrangement a few of these delicate vases with individual flowers can allow each guest at your table to have a miniature personalised display in front of them, bonus flair points if the vases have a whimsical flora pattern on them already.
