Monika is driven to immediate and unadulterated reproduction. Sometimes semi-abstract, sometimes realistic, she knows how to unmistakably capture the light and colours of the sea in her pictures. Her powerful, authentic colour compositions are created passionately and intuitively in her studio on the shores of her second home, the Baltic Sea resort of Laboe. With a clear view over the expanses of the mouth of the Kieler Förde river, she creates in her maritime motif ensembles her own light and sun-drenched world of sails, winds, beaches and harbors ports of her Baltic Sea.
