Who says watches are going out of style? Put your phone away and turn back time with a classic timepiece instead.
...Who says watches are going out of style? Put your phone away and turn back time with a classic timepiece instead.
Sure, everyone's phone tells the time these days, but you'd look a bit silly with it strapped to your wrist! Let's face it, digging around in your handbag for your phone when someone asks for the time isn't a good look. What is a good look though is a classic watch, and you can get timeless timepieces with either an analogue or digital display these days, so you don't have to be stuck in the dark ages of tech (sundials are pretty cool, but not very portable).
Mesh watches are a particularly stylish option — the more delicate strap keeps your watch from looking too chunky especially (ideal if you don't have the slimmest of wrists. No-one wants a wrist cankle. Wrankle?). Gold is the classic choice, and you can't really go wrong with a gold mesh watch, gold necklace and gold earrings to pull your accessories together. To make it more modern, go for rose gold — this updated take on a classic has really taken off in recent years, and a rose gold watch is a shortcut to style success. Match with a monochromatic outfit to add an extra pop of colour, or pair with pink clothes to really bring out their brightness.
Of course, if you prefer silver jewellery, a silver mesh watch will look best with the rest of your accessories, or, if you're a more colourful character (think Kate Winslet in Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind), go for a watch with a multi-coloured strap, or even a multi-coloured face, to keep your watch in step with the rest of your style. If you really like getting the most value for your money, you can even choose a watch with detachable strap that can be worn alone as a bracelet, for jewellery that does double duty. Telling the time has never been so stylish.
