When choosing new lighting for your home what could be better than a material that seems luminous itself. Copper’s bright shine is just the thing for breathing life into any room, yet it’s not quite as flashy as gold, making it perfect as an accent element, which is what wall lights ultimately are.

Copper looks especially ravishing in industrial chic designs. Industrial chic is all about using unexpected design elements to create items that are startling and striking. Why not pick out a wall light that subtly uses repurposed copper piping--a totally eco-friendly choice by the way--for a look that’s both imaginative and inviting. These will look great above tables with gold inlays or furniture in warm pumpkin or tangerine tones.

Be sure to pick up a few reproduction prints while you’re redecorating to hang on the wall next to your new lights: vintage advertisements from these time periods tend to have a lovely handmade quality to them and generally feature lavish, welcoming colours. If you really want to nail the look try adding a moroccan rug to your room--the finishing touch that’s just as kind on your eyes as it is on your feet.
