Cherilyn Colbert is a versatile visual storyteller based in the United States. She holds an MFA from the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) and a BA from Roanoke College.
Cherilyn draws inspiration from ephemeral moments, exploration, and play—and from observed line, color, texture, and pattern seen indoors and out. Her work is a vibrant celebration of place, reflecting her deep appreciation for the environments that shape our experiences and memories.
For Cherilyn, place is more than a backdrop—it holds emotional significance, encapsulating the core of personal histories. Cherilyn is influenced by the unique characteristics of place—their colors, textures, and ambiance. By illustrating these elements, she creates visual work that resonates with viewers on a personal level, evoking memories and emotions tied to specific locations.
When not in her studio, she can be found roaming antique malls, watching Netflix, or exploring the outdoors.
