The “SPOOL” was once part of a welding machine. An electrode wire, wound around the spool, was used in the welding process. Once the wire is finished the spool is quite useless for the welder, but not to us. We use this waste material to create our sustainable design lamp. The SPOOL is available in different SKIN colours and the Deluxe edition has electrode wire twisted around the spool to give your space that industrial feel.

Tolhuijs is a Dutch Design brand from Amsterdam. Our core values are beautiful design, sustainability, social impact. For our resources we gather left over materials from factories and we ‘upcycle’ these materials to our Dutch design products. In collaboration with prisons and social workshops we produce high-quality design for your interior.
