In this book Marin Montagut visits remarkable antique dealers and passionate amateurs across France to see their extraordinary collections. These include collections of plaster casts and sculptures ( a bit like the renowned Peter Hone collection in London), a collection of hats, brushes and artists' pigments and the collection of Patrick Mauriès which includes books, painting and objets d'Art.

Some of the settings are domestic and some are consigned to warehouses. In all the images there is the joy in repetition and difference that comes from specific collections and in the case of some collections the idea that the relatively mundane can become more beautiful when presented en masse. There is definitely something specifically French about both the collections and the spaces in which they are shown. Throughout the book are illustrations by the author in the style of vintage catalogues.
