What inspired you to become an artist, and when did you first realise that you wanted to pursue this career path?

Painting is my happy place, it brings me an immense amount of joy and my dream is to offer colourful, calming, happy wall art to your home!  I have always been amazed with the impact of art on people and today I’m grateful that some of my art can bring someone joy or brighten up their space. Most of my inspiration comes from nature and I can’t seem to stop doodling botanicals and greenery. I find my inner joy and calm through painting plants and other elements from nature.

What are some of your favourite materials and mediums to work with, and why do you prefer them?

I love exploring all mediums, from traditional to digital. But my biggest love are watercolours. There is just something so fun in the way the watercolours mix and you can never control fully control the end result. I would say my inner plant lady shines in most of my paintings. When I first started to paint I figured the easiest way to learn would be to paint nature and my surroundings it seems I just never stopped doing it. These days I take more risks, dip my toes in more abstract nature paintings whether in shape, colour or adding people which is something I am still learning.

What themes or ideas do you explore in your artwork, and why are they important to you?

The majority of my work can be described in a word “botanical”. I feel like we can never have too much green in our spaces and nature in every form can bring us calm.

How do you stay motivated and inspired when you hit a creative block or rough patch?

Creative block is always around the corner so a few years ago I decided to take advantage of every drop of inspiration I get. Nowdays I sketch out as much new material as possible in one sitting, even if it just flowers or a plant that inspired me I will try to find multiple ways to paint it and have it ready to work on when the creative block hits.

What advice would you give to aspiring artists who are just starting out on their artistic journeys?

It will be hard but don’t give up! Be inspired by others but don’t compare yourself too much. It’s important to remember that not every painting is a masterpiece and most of us don’t show the sad, hard days on social media.

Our shoppers love to buy multiple pieces to create Gallery walls, can you suggest any other art prints on Fy! which you feel compliment yours?
